Polar Night Software created Rokko, a conversational Slack bot powered by generative AI that integrates into the company's Slack workspace. Rokko is designed to incorporate unique company-specific knowledge and a customizable character, enabling natural language communication with other Slack members. By analyzing memes, photos, and other shared media, Rokko can engage into conversations by adding a touch of humor. It also offers practical features like reminders for crucial dates and deadlines, ensuring effective team coordination.

We wanted a bot that fits conversations - not one that interrupts them.
Rokko speaks in threads, uses ephemeral replies when it should, and keeps its tone aligned with company culture. It joins naturally where work happens, answering in context or stepping back when a channel gets busy. The goal wasn’t chat for chat’s sake, but a teammate that reduces friction.

Rokko pulls from the sources the company authorises and respects Slack permissions, so it can reference what a user can already see rather than guess. It summarises long threads, links to the right docs, and understands images or memes when that’s the fastest way to move a discussion forward.
Retrieval and message routing happen behind the scenes; to users it feels like clear, grounded answers that cite where they came from.
Nudges that keep work moving
Small automations beat another dashboard to check.
Rokko handles gentle coordination - deadline reminders, stand-up prompts, and planned check-ins around key dates like vacations or releases. Schedules run at sensible times, and ad-hoc nudges can be set in plain language, so teams don’t need new tools to stay aligned.
The impact shows up in fewer missed handoffs and less context hunting, without adding noise to the workspace.
